The Institute for Materials Chemistry at the IFW Dresden, Germany offers a Group Leader Position (m/f/div) on the topic: Area Selective Deposition (ASD). The Group leader is responsible for establishing, leading and managing an independent research group within the Institute for Materials Chemistry, delivering of bold, ambitious and transformational research in the field of ASD which is aligned with the broad research fields of IMC. Tasks: To set the research direction for the ASD group and ensuring research activity is consistent and contribute to the IMC’s overall research strategy; To recruit and manage the ASD group members which may include postdocs, doctoral students, research assistants and other co-workers. Supervision of young researchers and contributing to the development of research engagement of the institute, To effectively collaborate with other groups within IMC as well as within IFW; Conducting high quality research including publication in top international journals and dissemination of research results to academic networks and general public; Contribution to the research funding of IMC by acquiring external research funding through national and international funding agencies; Active involvement in assessment and evaluation program of IFW. Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Electrochemical Organic Synthesis and Catalysis. Vacancy number V25.0464. The University of Groningen has an opening for an Assistant Professor (0.8-1.0 FTE) to strengthen our position in the field of electrochemical organic synthesis and catalysis, affiliated with the nationwide ARC CBBC Program. Synthetic organic chemistry is a core discipline of the chemical sciences and a major challenge for the coming decades is the development of sustainable chemical synthesis methods and processes. Electrochemical organic synthesis, electrocatalysis and photoredox-catalysis have the potential to replace current synthetic methods in organic chemistry and allow production of chemicals based on low-cost electricity and low-waste transformations. Both in research and teaching, investment in high level electrochemical organic synthesis is warranted to maintain a frontier international position in organic synthesis and chemical conversion. As affiliated to the ARC CBBC, the candidate will have ample opportunities to strengthen academic and industrial cooperation with other CBBC partners (from the University of Groningen, Utrecht University, Eindhoven University of Technology, Shell, Akzo-Nobel, Nouryon and BASF). The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn invites applications for a W2 Professorship (with tenure) in Inorganic Chemistry to be filled as soon as possible. Successful candidates are expected to be internationally renowned in experimental inorganic chemistry that complements and strengthens the areas represented by the existing research groups within the Institute and the Department of Chemistry. An excellent research track record relative to the candidate’s career stage is expected. The candidate is expected to actively participate in the acquisition of third-party funding and to contribute to the development of collaborative research programs. Teaching is an integral part of the professorial position and teaching in all stages of the study program in German and English language is required. Non-German speakers would be expected to teach in German within a reasonable timeframe. A high-quality teaching concept is therefore expected. Cooperation in academic administration is also expected. Guidelines for the submission of job advertisements

Job offerings on this website will be posted for free on these websites if they reach us via E-Mail. The job list Professors and Junior Researchers is updated within a week at the latest.

Please send the text of your job advertisement to karriere@gdch.de and insert it right into the Mail or attach it as an .rtf-file. Please do not send PDF files! In order to avoid further inquiries from our sides please do also indicate whether the publication should be online only or additionally in the “Nachrichten”, our monthly member’s magazine.

To provide job seekers a quick overview, the first line of the advertisement should name the vacant position (professorship) and the institute or university with the vacancy (e.g. "Professorship available at the Institute for xxx of yyy University" – please see sample texts). Please also mention the application deadline and give the address for applications at the end of the ad.

The advertisement should have about 2.500 characters including blanks. We reserve the right to shorten longer texts without notifying the advertiser. Please do not send us a designed advertisement! However, you can of course link to the complete announcement on your website.

Should you additionally want to publish your announcement in “Nachrichten aus der Chemie”, you have two options:
1. The individual job advert with graphics, logos etc: Choosing this option you can decide on the layout and text length yourself. For examples for individual ads take a look at our online job market “Industry and public service”. Prices vary according to the ad’s size. more

2. A small ad in form of a continuous text without graphics, logos. etc: You can choose to publish the same announcement as from the list “Universities and Research Institutes” additionally as a small ad in the “Nachrichten”.
