Additional networking: Divisions & working groups

As a member, you can also join one or more Divisions or working groups, giving you targeted information and networking opportunities in precisely the field that interests you. You make your selection when submitting your Online application, or you can join at any time later.

For students, membership of Divisions and working groups is generally free of charge; Full Members usually pay a separate annual fee. You can find details on the membership fees page.

For companies: Supporting membership

Companies and institutions can also support the GDCh as supporting members. In doing so, you strengthen professional exchange between academia and industry and actively support the next generation of scientists. At the same time, you promote chemistry in Germany as a whole – especially because the GDCh operates as an independent professional society, your support benefits the entire chemistry community. As part of your membership, you can also play an active role.

Supporting membership is intended exclusively for companies and institutions, not individuals. It is independent of the individual membership categories on this page and must be applied for separately.

More about corporate supporting membership

When does your membership start and what does joining cost?

Your membership begins when you are accepted by the GDCh. A half-year rule applies to the first membership year: if you join in the first half of the year (by 30 June), you pay the full annual fee. If you join in the second half of the year (from 1 July), you pay only half the fee for the first year.

You can find the exact fee rates for each type of membership on the membership fees page.
