Standardisation coordinator of the Society of Water Chemistry

The development of standardised analytical methods for water analysis was one of the founding objectives of the Society of Water Chemistry and has been pursued since 1928 by the committee established specifically for this purpose. Together with DIN German Institute for Standardization, the committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining the German Standard Methods for the Examination of Water, Wastewater and Sludge (DEV).

More than 100 scientists from Germany, Austria, England, the Netherlands and Switzerland are involved in the Main Committee for Research (formerly: Main Committee for Scientific Principles and Applications) and its thirteen Divisions.
