Eyewitnesses

In most cases, it has already been many years since we trained as chemists. Some things may be better today than they were in the past, while others perhaps are not. And this concerns not only the equipment and safety standards in our laboratories, but also the social environment.
Our female colleagues who studied chemistry in the 1960s occasionally experienced situations that seem strange today. Balancing work and family was even more challenging then than it already is today. Colleagues describe this in our brochure “Equal Opportunities as Experienced Through the Ages ─ Chemists look back on their studies and the paths they subsequently took.”
In our brochure “Igniting Chemistry Experiments ─ Enthusiasm, Discoveries, Responsibility, Careers”, chemists explore the fascinating questions: “How did I come to chemistry?”, “Who or what ignited my enthusiasm for chemistry?”
