Association for Chemistry and Economics

The Association for Chemistry and Economics (VCW) was founded in 1999 as a Division of the GDCh and currently has over 1,000 members. It forms an interface between the natural sciences, particularly chemistry, and economics, achieving this in particular by establishing an international chemistry and economics network. The VCW brings together people from chemistry, other natural sciences, engineering and also others connected with chemistry or the chemical industry. Everyone from these fields is warmly invited to contribute to achieving the VCW’s objectives.

Tasks and objectives of the VCW

• To create a forum in which discussions on chemistry and economics can be conducted openly and proactively
• To pool expertise in chemistry and economics
• To create a network for people who work professionally at the interface between chemistry and business
• To investigate the economic conditions of the chemical industry
• To promote support within the GDCh for creative engagement with the development of the chemical industry in Germany, Europe and worldwide
• To make independent contributions to the discourse on industrial and technological development
