working group public relations

We, the senior members of the working group public relations, communicate the concerns of the Senior Expert Chemists to the outside world and throughout the GDCh. We improve public understanding of basic chemical relationships. To this end, we make our specialist knowledge and experience available on a voluntary basis. The spokesperson for the working group is Dr. Wolfgang Gerhartz.

The working group public relations establishes contacts and expands networks, disseminates information, strengthens the identity of the Senior Expert Chemists and encourages new Senior Expert Chemists to get involved.

We also see it as our task to strengthen the sense of togetherness among senior members and the community spirit of the SEC, as well as communication within the GDCh and between the two SEC working groups. To this end, we offer regional and national conferences such as the SEC annual meetings, joint excursions and lecture events.

We also engage seniors at local-branch level – in cooperation with the working group education – and establish and deepen contacts with JCF regional sections, as well as with seniors and active members at all levels. This enables all members organised in the GDCh to continue identifying with the GDCh as seniors and, where possible, to encourage colleagues to join or rejoin. We therefore organise our activities as follows:

  • External communication more...
  • Communication within the GDCh more...
  • Projects more...

The working group Network, which existed until December 2019, was merged with the working group public relations at that time.
