Modern, environmentally friendly types of paint – manufacture, properties, areas of application

Online lecture by Thomas Brock on 30.03.2021, 3–4 pm

Moderator: Wolfgang Gerhartz

For several decades—and with an increasing impact—legislation and trends in public opinion have brought about remarkable and successful changes in the chemistry and technology of paints and other coating materials: water-based paints, powder coatings, radiation-curing and extremely low-solvent materials already dominate today, supplemented by technological innovations aimed at saving resources such as energy, water and other raw materials. This contribution provides an overview of the characteristics, possible applications, advantages and limitations of the paints mentioned.
