Award statutes

§1 The Board of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry resolves to award a Division Award under the name “Fritz Straßmann Award”.

§2 The Fritz Straßmann Award is presented to established scientists who have achieved outstanding results in the field of nuclear chemistry.

§3 The award may normally be presented every four years.

§4 All members of the Division are entitled to submit nominations. Self-nominations are excluded. The Board and advisory board members of the Division decide on the conferral of the award by a simple majority. In the event of a tied vote, the vote of the Division Chair is decisive.

§5 Applications must be submitted electronically to the GDCh Office. The nomination must include:

  • a detailed justification of the nominee’s eligibility for the award from the nominator
  • a curriculum vitae of no more than three pages, a list of publications, and a selection of important lectures and awards

§6 The award should, wherever possible, be presented in conjunction with a Division conference and a lecture by the award recipient. The award includes a certificate outlining the recipient’s achievements. The award is endowed with €2,500.

§7 Amendments to these statutes are only possible with a two-thirds majority of the Division Board.

Resolution of the Board dated 28 April 2025, Frankfurt am Main
