Award statutes

§1 The Board of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry resolves to award a Division Award under the name “Nuclear Chemistry Division Award”.

§2 The award is presented to committed researchers who have completed their doctorates and who, up to eight years after obtaining their doctorate, distinguish themselves through outstanding, independent scientific work in the field of nuclear chemistry and demonstrate international visibility in the research field. Achievements in teaching or exceptional support for early-career researchers with measurable success, popular science communication or innovation will also be recognised.

§3 As a rule, the award may be put out for proposals every four years.

§4 All university lecturers and industry representatives with a related area of responsibility, as well as the members of the Division who have completed their doctorates, are entitled to submit nominations. Self-nominations are not permitted. The Board and Advisory Board members of the Division decide on the selection by a simple majority of votes. In the event of a tie, the vote of the Division Chair is decisive.

§5 Applications must be submitted electronically to the GDCh Office.

The nomination must include:

● a detailed justification of the nominee’s eligibility for the award by the nominator
● a detailed curriculum vitae
● a list of independent scientific publications
● and/or evidence of exceptional achievements in teaching, support for early-career researchers and/or science communication

§6 The award comprises a certificate of presentation setting out the recipient’s achievements and prize money of €1,500.

§7 The awardee reports on the work recognised as part of an invited lecture at the Division conference.

§8 Amendments to these statutes are only possible with a two-thirds majority of the Division Board.

Resolution of the Board dated 28 April 2025, Frankfurt am Main

The next call for proposals is planned for autumn/winter 2027 for the 2028 award.
