MedChem Campus
The Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery (TüCAD2), founded in 2012, is part of the University’s excellence strategy. TüCAD2 is closely connected to the Excellence Cluster iFIT, ICEPHA (Interfaculty Center for Pharmacogenomics) and NCT-SW (National Center for Tumor Diseases-SouthWest), and focuses on the pharmacological validation of genetically identified targets. Its strong translational focus has brought four compounds “first into human” to date. An essential part of TüCAD2 is a teaching concept in which both a med chem curriculum and a MedChemCampus play a major role. Together with the GDCh Division of Medicinal Chemistry, TüCAD2 started the MedChemCampus events in 2023, featuring case studies presented by eminent drug discovery experts from both industry and academia.
Topics: Case studies dealing with challenges in drug discovery
e.g. pharmacokinetics, structural biology, lead optimisation, safety, selectivity, brain penetration, resistance, macrocycles
Target Audience
- Young professionals in drug discovery & medicinal chemistry (academia and industry)
