“Borderline” PBT substances are those for which at least one of the PBT criteria was narrowly missed (shortfall of up to 10%, Matthies et al., submitted). By additionally taking account of the long-range transport potential (LRTP), these substances can be assessed as PBT substances despite failing to meet a numerical criterion (see contribution by J. Ackermann et al.)
