Excursions of the GDCh Division of the Chemistry of Construction Materials

The Division of the Chemistry of Construction Materials supports group excursions as part of university education with a grant of up to 500 euros per institute per year (up to 50 euros per student). The excursions must have a clear connection with chemistry of construction materials. Applications should be submitted informally by the organising institution, together with a brief description of the content, to the GDCh Office (Dr. Lisa Pecher).

Following approval by the Board of the Division of the Chemistry of Construction Materials, the following documents are required:

  • Cost overview and proof of costs with original receipts
  • Address of the payment recipient
  • Bank details

The amount will be paid out once the required documents have been submitted.

Field trip to BASF Construction Solutions GmbH and Wacker Chemie AG

On 4 and 5 April 2019, 15 students from 10 university locations accepted the invitation to Trostberg and Burghausen. Through presentations, discussions, laboratory tours and site visits, they gained extensive insights into the industrial working environment of “chemistry of construction materials” and had plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas with BASF and Wacker employees.
