Scholarship programme of the GDCh Division of Chemistry & Energy

The Chemistry & Energy Division of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) supports the participation of early-career researchers in national and international conferences, seminars or workshops by awarding various travel grants.

Conditions:

  • Target group: Students and doctoral researchers
  • Requirement: active participation in the event, i.e. a lecture or poster presentation
  • All conference contributions must have an unambiguous connection with the topic of chemistry & energy .
  • All grant recipients are requested to mention the support provided by the GDCh Chemistry & Energy Division in their lecture or on their poster.
  • A maximum of 2 grants may be awarded per working group and calendar year

1. Conference grants for selected events

Active participation in selected events (e.g. Division conference) is particularly encouraged by the Chemistry & Energy Division through the awarding of individually advertised travel grants.

There are currently no travel grants available for selected conferences.

2. Conference grants for freely chosen events

The Division Chemistry & Energy is awarding a limited number of travel grants for 2025 to enable active participation in freely selected Conferences. Applications can be submitted at any time to Dr. Lisa Pecher using the subject line "Chemistry & Energy Conference Grant" no later than three weeks before the start of the event. Each application must contain the following documents:

  • completed application form (see below),
  • abstract of the Conference contribution (poster/lecture),
  • brief explanation (2–3 sentences) of the relevance of the Conference contribution to the field of Chemistry & Energy (e.g. energy-related application),
  • confirmation of acceptance of the Conference contribution,
  • proof of registration.

Maximum funding amount: 400 euros (national Conference), 500 euros (Europe), 600 euros (outside Europe)
