Membership
With a network of around 1,900 members, the Division of chemical education offers a broad range of activities and information to enhance the quality and effectiveness of chemical education. These include, for example:
Annual fee: 40 euros
Interested chemistry teachers from Germany and abroad who do not hold a degree in chemistry, biochemistry or food chemistry may choose associate membership as an alternative to ordinary GDCh membership.
People from Germany and abroad who have received training outside the field of chemistry or related areas and are interested in contributing to the Division of chemical education may also become associate members of the GDCh.
Associate membership of the GDCh is linked to membership of a Division. You receive all the benefits of the Division of chemical education, but not those of the GDCh. Voting rights are limited to active voting rights in the Division.
Trainee teachers can enjoy the benefits of membership of the Chemistry Education Division of the German Chemical Society free of charge for one year.
All trainee teachers who opt for associate membership will be exempt from membership fees in the first year of their membership. This offer applies to new memberships only. From the second year onwards, the annual fee of 40 euros will be payable for associate membership of the GDCh and membership of the Chemistry Education Division. Please refer to the section “Associate member of the GDCh and Division membership in the Chemistry Education Division” or the application form for details of the benefits of this membership.
Please print out the application form and send it, completed and signed, to the German Chemical Society, Member Services, PO Box 90 04 40, 60444 Frankfurt am Main.
Annual fee: 120 euros (German Chemical Society membership) + 25 euros (Division membership)
All persons in Germany and abroad who are interested in chemical education and who are Full Members of the German Chemical Society in accordance with the statutes of the German Chemical Society may become Full Members. In addition to the Division’s benefits, Full Members receive Nachrichten aus der Chemie and have active voting rights in the German Chemical Society. They receive both Nachrichten aus der Chemie and Chemkon and have active voting rights in the GDCh and FGCU.
Supporting members may be legal entities, partnerships, companies, corporations and public-law institutions, associations, interest groups and public authorities.
