The term of office of the Board of the GDCh Division of Biochemistry ends on 31 December 2026, and you, as members of the Division, are called upon to nominate candidates for the Board election who
According to the bylaws of the Division, the Board consists of a maximum of six members (1x Chair, 1x Deputy Chair, 4x ordinary members), five of whom are each elected for a term of four years. The universities and industry should have equal representation in the composition of the Board. Re-election once is possible. One of the ordinary Board members is delegated by the Board of the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM).
After serving two terms, Prof. Dr. Kathrin Lang, Dr. Hans-Georg Lerchen and Prof. Dr. Stefan Raunser may no longer stand for a further term. All other elected Board members have indicated their willingness to stand for re-election. We would like to take this opportunity to express our particular thanks to all of them for their many years of successful work for the Division and the GDCh as a whole.
For the five Board positions up for election, the incumbent Board is putting forward the following five proposals, in addition to your nominations:

If no written proposals for nominating further candidates are received by the GDCh Office by and including 18 September 2026 (for the attention of Maike Fries; m.fries@gdch.de), the election will be conducted as an Online election from 5 October 2026 with the persons listed above.
By letter dated 5 April 2022, we informed you of the candidates proposed by the incumbent Board of the GDCh Division of Biochemistry for the forthcoming Board election. No further nominations were submitted by the members. Accordingly, the election of the Board will be conducted with the following candidates, all of whom have agreed to stand:

According to the Division's bylaws, the Board consists of six members (1x Chair, 1x Deputy Chair, max. 4x ordinary members), each elected for a term of four years. A single re-election is possible. One of the ordinary Board members is not elected but delegated by the Board of the Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie e.V. (GBM). Thus, five people are standing for election to five Board positions to be filled.
