Dr Hermann Schnell Foundation

In 1995, the German Chemical Society established a foundation named after the successful industrial chemist and Staudinger awardee Dr. Hermann Schnell (1916–1999). The purpose of the Dr. Hermann Schnell Foundation is to support young scientists working in the field of macromolecular chemistry, its physico-chemical fundamentals and its analysis.
Scholarships are available to early-career chemists working at universities or publicly funded research institutions who have, as a rule, completed their habilitation. They should hold German citizenship.
Applicants from other European countries must demonstrate close collaboration with German researchers and research institutions. Funding is provided through scholarships. Scholarships are awarded following a call for proposals, and self-nominations are welcome.
The Foundation’s advisory board selects the individuals to receive funding. Two members of the GDCh Division of Macromolecular Chemistry serve on the advisory board.

Dr. Fabian Eisenreich from Eindhoven University of Technology is awarded the Dr.-Hermann-Schnell Scholarship.
