The editorial team

Nachrichten-Redaktion mit Kuratoriumsvorsitzender Ruth Bieringer

The Editorial staff of the ‘Nachrichten aus der Chemie’ is based at the GDCh office in Frankfurt. Four editors, a editorial assistant and a layout designer ensure that eleven times a year the ‘Nachrichten’ are filled with content and reach GDCh members on time.

Your internship with the ‘Nachrichten’ editorial staff

Am Praktikantinnenschreibtisch in der Redaktion

Interns at “Nachrichten aus der Chemie” learn about the processes involved in the Editorial staff of a journal using a modern editorial system. They write their own articles, edit, conduct research, proofread, attend press events and independently manage individual sections.

Anyone wishing to undertake a compulsory or orientation internship at “Nachrichten aus der Chemie” should have knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or food chemistry, be a native German speaker and be able to write and understand English. “Nachrichten” interns are articulate, strong communicators and curious, and enjoy engaging with people.

An internship can last between six and eight weeks. More information from

The Board of Trustees

The GDCh Board appoints a Board of Trustees for the “Nachrichten aus der Chemie” from representatives of the various chemistry disciplines, academia, industry, politics and journalism. The President and Executive Director of the GDCh are also members of the Board of Trustees ex officio.

The Board of Trustees and its individual members advise and support the Editorial staff as active partners in its work and in all matters relating to the journal’s content and design.

For the 2025 to 2027 term of office, the following members have been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the “Nachrichten aus der Chemie”:
