Chemistry for Medical Degree Courses

Who we are – what we do

Founded in September 2010, the Chemistry for Medical Degree Programmes Working Group aims to further develop and modernise education in chemistry and the natural sciences within medical degree programmes (human and dental medicine, as well as veterinary medicine, molecular medicine and similar disciplines). In human medicine, this education takes place as part of the subject “Chemistry for Medical Students”.

The Working Group represents the interests of these subjects and their representatives externally. Its activities primarily include contributing to the development of educational standards and representation on inter-university and non-university committees. Its aim is to establish chemistry sustainably as a basic natural science subject in a modern medical degree programme that meets the opportunities and challenges presented by rapidly expanding molecular knowledge.

In addition, the Working Group provides a platform for exchanging experiences at every level. Enquiries, requests and suggestions are always welcome!
