Board and Executive Committee
Under Section 13 of the GDCh statutes, the Board is responsible for all matters concerning the Society, unless they are reserved for other bodies or institutions of the Society by mandatory legal provisions or by provisions of the statutes. The Board’s term of office is four years. It consists of 15 members, seven of whom come from the scientific sector (universities, research institutions and public authorities) and seven from the business sector and liberal professions. The 15th member is delegated by the chairs of the Divisions for a period of two years. If no elected Board member assumes the office of Treasurer, the Board may assign this office to a person who is not a member of the Board. In this case, the Treasurer is an ex officio member of the Board, whose membership then comprises 16 people.
The President and their two Deputies are elected from among the Board members. Their term of office is two years. Direct re-election to the same office is not possible. (bylaws).
