Orcid accurately identifies researchers, ensuring they receive proper credit for their contributions. But only 50 percent of the researchers in Germany have an Orcid ID. It can be difficult trying to search for researchers who share the same name. As researchers‘ careers progress, they may choose to use different versions of their names or to change their names for a variety of reasons, which can lead to further confusion.
