Opinions, and More! I share Peter Gölitz’s point of view in his excellent column “Meinung in Primärjournalen? Unbedingt!” [Nachr. Chem. 2021, 69(5), 19]. And I understand that there are changes being seriously discussed by Angewandte Chemie in its policies with respect to publishing essays. We will in time hear what those changes are, but I feel I need to write now an open letter to the community to urge Angewandte Chemie (with the GDCh and Wiley-VCH involved) as it considers its future, to continue publishing essays and editorials of every kind – historical, reflective, philosophical, biographical.
