Who is eligible for the ACS discount? - All current GDCh members residing in Germany, including associate members, are eligible. The discount applies to all ACS membership categories.
How much will I save? - You receive 30% off the regular ACS membership fee — for your chosen membership category. Your GDCh membership fee remains unchanged.
How do I get my discount code? - Request your personal code via the GDCh member portal at [link]. We will verify your eligibility and send the code to your registered email address within [X] business days.
I already have an ACS membership. Can I still benefit? - Yes. You can use the discount code at your next ACS membership renewal.
How long is my code valid?- Each code is valid for one new ACS registration or one renewal. You will need to request a new code each year.
Can I request a code right after joining the GDCh?- No. Please become a GDCh member first. Once your membership is confirmed, you can request your discount code as a next step.
Can I share my code with a colleague? - No. Each code is personal and tied to your individual GDCh membership. Your colleagues can request their own codes through the same process.
I lost my code. What should I do? - Please contact us at ms@gdch.de with your GDCh membership number. We will resend your code.
My code is not working on the ACS website. What should I do? - Please contact us at ms@gdch.de with your membership number and a brief description of the issue. We will look into it promptly.
What happens if I move outside of Germany? - The discount is available only to GDCh members residing in Germany. If you relocate, please update your member profile. Future discount codes may no longer be available depending on your new country of residence.
How long will this partnership last? - The partnership runs for an initial period of three years, starting June 1, 2026. After a joint evaluation by both societies, a decision will be made on whether to continue the program.
Who is eligible for the GDCh discount? - ACS members residing in the United States are eligible for a 30% discount on GDCh membership in the following categories: Student/Trainee, Young Member, Full Member, and Retired Member.
How do I claim my discount? - When applying for GDCh membership, select "I am an ACS member living in the US" in the application form. The 30% discount will be applied automatically to your invoice.
I am already a GDCh member. When does my discount start? - If you are a current GDCh member, the discount will apply from your 2027 renewal onwards. Simply update your member profile to indicate that you are an ACS member residing in the US.
Can I combine this discount with other membership discounts? - No. Only one fee-reducing feature can be applied at a time. The system will always apply whichever option results in the lowest fee for you.
Does this apply to lifetime memberships? - No. The discount is not applicable to lifetime memberships.
Does my ACS membership fee change? - No. This partnership has no effect on your ACS membership fee.
What are the benefits of GDCh membership? - As a GDCh member, you will receive the member magazine "Nachrichten aus der Chemie", access to GDCh events and conferences, the opportunity to join specialized divisions (Fachgruppen) in your area of expertise, and connection to a network of 28,000+ chemistry professionals in Germany and Europe.
Is GDCh content available in English? - Many GDCh scientific events include English-language presentations, and we offer English-language support for international members. The member magazine "Nachrichten aus der Chemie" is published in German.
