Aim of the conference

The international symposium will focus on current developments, novel approaches and cutting-edge technologies in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug research with sessions on Chemical Biology, Computer-Aided Drug Design, Protein Degradation, Immuno-oncology and Immunomodulation, Drugs for the treatment of liver diseases, and Highlights in Medicinal Chemistry. The scientific program will include lectures, and poster presentations. It is the goal of the organizers to make this meeting an event of scientific excellence, attractive to both industrial and academic scientists in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, and related fields of research.

Satellite Meeting

A satellite meeting co-organized by LS2 (Life Sciences Switzerland) will take place on Sunday 12 February, 09.00 - 16.00 just before the start of the main event. One of the plenary speakers, Alexander Adibekian (UNIGE) will be the chair of this meeting. Master and PhD students are invited to apply at from 15th of November onwards for an oral presentation at this event.

The meeting also includes a scientific writing/scientific publishing session with the Managing Editor of ChemMedChem and a Q&A session with two of the plenary speakers about Academic Careers.
Registration is free and participants will get up to 100CHF of travel and accommodation support!

Free Post-Conference Workshop "Modeling for Anyone"

Start: Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 1 p.m. (approx. 2 hours)

BioSolveIT invites you to a workshop that addresses anyone in early drug hunting. Using a novel, easy and very visual software tool (SeeSAR, you will learn the basics of structure-based modeling, scoring, and conformational analysis.
SeeSAR has been conceived to be easy to use, and will assist you in calculating physico-chemical properties, affinity estimations, and on-the-fly editing and hypothesis testing. You will learn how to optimize the tightness of fit and create meaningful graphics.

If fees are paid in advance, but after Februar 1, 2017, we kindly ask participants to show proof of payment when claiming their tickets and congress papers at the registration desk.
Onsite payment only by electronic cash or credit card (Amex, Mastercard, Visa).


Written cancellations received on or before January 1, 2017, will be refunded less a 25,- administration fee.
After that date the full amount of the invoice has to be paid. Requests for refund will not be accepted; however, registration may be transferred to another member of your organisation.  In this case, please send a note to GDCh, Congress Team.

If the conference is cancelled for whatever reason, fees paid will be refunded. Further recourse is excluded.



The GDCh Division of Medical Chemistry offers a limited number of scholarships to student Division members in education presenting a scientific contribution (main author of an oral contribution or poster).
