Biochemistry 2016

The division of Biochemistry of the German Chemical Society
cordially invites you to participate in the

Biochemistry 2016
Shaping the Molecules of Life: Chemical Biology of Nucleic Acid and Protein Modifications

July 6 – 8, 2016 in Frankfurt am Main/Germany

Aim of the conference

DNA, RNA and proteins are the central molecules of life in all organisms. Chemistry acts on all of them by installing different types of modifications – often in a reversible manner. This extra layer of chemical complexity tailors the functionality of the respective biopolymer in various useful ways – both in nature and in the test tube.

This conference aims to bring together scientists from chemistry and biology working on functional, mechanistic, and analytical aspects of natural modifications. Non-natural modifications will also be covered regarding synthesis and application in biotechnology.

There will be 6-8 plenary lectures by leading international scientists, plus ~20 oral presentations, mostly selected from the submitted abstracts.
