German Chemical Society (GDCh) celebrating 50 Years Angewandte Chemie International Edition

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, the flagship journal of the GDCh and one of the most renowned chemistry journals in the world, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations to mark this special occation, two Angewandte Symposia were held in Asia. They were also a highlight of the activities of the GDCh within the International Year of Chemistry IYC 2011.

The symposia took place on June 20, 2011 in Tokyo (Japan) and on June 22, 2011 in Beijing (China). They celebrated excellence in chemistry and served to strengthen the scientific dialogue with our sister societies, The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) and the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS). This eidening of scientific dialogue with both countries is wholeheartedly supported by the Research in Germany initiative.
