Aim of the conference

In the spirit of previous meetings organised by the CIC-division the topics of our international symposium will span a wide range of contributions related to chemoinformatics and to chemical information.
We wish to attract both industrial and academic scientists in this field. The scientific programme will include plenary lectures as well as presentation of posters, projects and software. The conference language is English.

Because of the strong increase of the number of attendees during the last conferences, we have to impose a limit for the number of conference participant (200 max).

All tickets and congress papers (incl. book of abstracts) will be handed to the participants upon check-in at the registration desk. Participants are requested to wear their congress badges at all times for identification and admittance to the conference rooms.

Upon online registration, payment by credit card or direct debit is preferred. If you wish to pay by bank transfer (free of bank commission), please do not forget to print the invoice at the end of your online-registration.

If fees are paid in advance, but after October 25, 2012, we kindly ask participants to show proof of payment when claiming their tickets and congress papers at the registration desk.
Onsite payment only by electronic cash or credit card (Mastercard, Visa).


Cancellation

Written cancellations received on or before October 15, 2012, will be refunded less a 25,- administration fee.
After that date the full amount of the invoice has to be paid. Requests for refund will not be accepted; however, registration may be transferred to another member of your organisation.  In this case, please send a note to GDCh, Congress Team.

If the conference is cancelled for whatever reason, fees paid will be refunded. Further recourse is excluded.

On Sunday, November 11, a free-software session with tutorials on a number of open source projects will be offered. Submit your free-software session contribution via the conference home page.

Information for Poster Authors

GUIDELINES FOR POSTER AUTHORS: INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Poster Size 

Width: max. 120 cm
Height: max. 160 cm

Each poster board has got a number.
Materials to mount the posters will be available at the conference office.
Please do not print on the poster board.

Poster Format

Your poster should have a Title, Author(s) name, Institution (to be placed at the top of the poster area, the size of the letters should be minimum 25 mm).

The letters should be 1 cm high and graph lines should be 1mm minimum.

Poster(s) should be readable at a distance of at least 2 meters.

Poster Authors Presence and Poster Discussion

All posters will be presented during the whole Symposium. The poster author is requested to be at his poster at the scheduled poster session.

Time to mount the poster: Sunday, November 11, 2012, 15.00 – 18.00
Time to remove the poster: Tuesday, November 13, 2012, after 17.30

Posters which are not removed in time will not be stored or mailed to the authors.

Awards

FIZ CHEMIE Berlin-Preis
FIZ CHEMIE Berlin-Preis is given to 2 young scientists for excellent diploma/master and doctoral theses within the period of summer 2011 – summer 2012 on Monday, November 12.

Gmelin-Beilstein-Denkmünze Award 
The Gmelin Beilstein-Denkmünze - a silver medal - is given for recognition of special contributions to chemical literature, chemical information, or the history of chemistry. In 2012 Dr. Engelbert Zaß, ETH Zurich, is being awarded with this prestigious GDCh prize during the GCC2012 on Monday,
November 12.

Poster Award
Prizes will be awarded for the three best posters.

The hotel provides accommodation for all participants in single (from € 70,- to € 90,- per room/night) or double bed rooms (from € 105,- to € 125,- per room/night).

Arrangements should be made directly with the hotel under the keyword "CIC 2012" not later than October 10, 2012.

The registration fee includes coffee breaks as well as softdrinks like water and apple juice.

Photos made on GDCh conferences are used exclusively by GDCh for documentation, news coverage and advertisement.

Dinner/Lunch

Dinner is included in the registration fee on November 11 and 12, Lunch is included Novemver 12 and 13. Drinks are not included (except water and apple juice).

Booking is required for the dinner on Tuesday!
