The Department of Cellular Biophysics (Prof. Dr. Joachim P. Spatz) is looking for an

Engineer, Technical Assistant (CTA) or Laboratory Technician in the fields of battery-related applied chemistry, synthetic chemistry and battery technology.

YOUR TASKS

  • direct collaboration with PhD students and postdocs on cutting-edge research
  • fabrication of novel metal fiber-based current collectors
  • processing and analysis of colloid dispersions & polymer materials
  • manufacturing and testing of battery electrodes and battery cells
  • support the organization of chemistry and battery laboratories
  • support the management of research and data infrastructure

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have:

  • completed vocational training as a technical assistant (CTA), laboratory assistant in physics, engineering or chemistry or a comparable scientific education
  • practical laboratory experience in the fields of physics and chemistry
  • preferably practical laboratory experience in the context of working with polymers, colloids & nanoparticles or battery research
  • excellent organizational and communication skills, high flexibility and team spirit
  • independent, goal-oriented, analytical way of working
  • very good written and oral communication skills in German and English
  • willingness to acquire knowledge in new areas and to contribute creatively to the further development of the research focus
