About us (JCF)
The JCF (JungesChemieForum) is the organisation for the young, predominantly student members of the GDCh. Here, young chemists coordinate and organise their interests and activities. All student members and other members undergoing training, as well as those full GDCh members who are classified as junior members in accordance with the contribution regulations, form the JCF (JungesChemieForum).
The JCF (JungesChemieForum) regional forums are groups within the GDCh local sections; they exist in 54 of the 60 GDCh local sections. The regional forums organise a wide range of events, from high-profile public lectures, seminars, introductory events for new students and careers fairs to experiments for young and old, as well as conferences lasting several days. The JCF’s (JungesChemieForum) largest multi-day event is the annual Spring Symposium, hosted by one of the regional forums. With consistently more than 300 participants, it has achieved an international reputation as a platform for young talent.
In the regional forums, representatives and their Deputies are elected by the junior members registered in the respective regional forums. The JCF Federal Executive Board, consisting of one Federal Representative and four Deputies, is elected from among these representatives for a one-year term. The Federal Executive Board coordinates the activities of the JCF (JungesChemieForum) and represents it both internally and externally.
The JCF is not a legally independent structure of the GDCh. The Society’s statutes are binding on it and its members.
