See you in Liverpool in August 2018.
FIBES II– Seville Conference Centre
(Level 3 in front of room Madrid, follow the beaver)
A time to NETWORK! Cool drinks and snacks for everyone. Students, postdocs and young scientists rub elbows with like-minded persons who can help launch their careers in chemistry:
1. European and overseas chemical societies present their career services, with each country detailing the opportunities and support it offers young chemists.
2. Grant sponsors in several countries, such as the DFG in Germany, furnish information about their grants, stipends and programmes for students, postdocs and senior scientists.
3. Large corporations all over Europe tell what they have in the way of internships, training positions or full-time jobs for young chemists.
In addition, working groups throughout Europe post their jobs available on the job board, for doctoral candidates and postdocs to peruse. These job offers stay posted on the web pages of GDCh Career Services as well for six weeks after the networking cocktail hour.
Looking for the next step in your career? Want some international experience – maybe live in a foreign country for a while? You won't want to miss the Career Networking Reception – a place to find jobs open to doctoral candidates and postdocs from all over Europe. Here, too, you can meet chemical society representatives and learn what they offer in the way of job announcements and services. Grant sponsors at the cocktail hour will inform you about possibilities for support, while the representatives of large corporations describe their organizations' internships and trainee positions, and the professional prospects for chemists at their firms.
Please sign up (free!) for the Career Networking Reception by 1 August 2016. You can use your brochures, fliers and posters to introduce your organization to the up-and-coming young scientists you'll meet there, and talk with them in person.
Then please e-mail your announcement as a pdf file (max. one page per announcement) to GDCh Career Services at karriere@gdch.de. We'll post your job available ad not only on the poster boards at the Career Networking Reception but also on the web pages of GDCh Career Services (www.gdch.de/stellen), where they'll stay posted for another six weeks. We need to have your ad, in English, by 29 August 2016. If you plan to be in Seville at the EuCheMS Congress, be sure not to miss the Career Networking Cocktail Hour! Register with our team, and you'll get a good clear name tag that shows young visitors you have a job available.
