Arrival by airplane:

From airport Tegel (Estimated travel time is 60 minutes)
• Take bus X9 oder 109 (outside the main entrance of the airport building) direction Zoo.
• Get off at stop Jakob-Kaiser-Platz (Subway station) and change to subway.
• Take U-Bahn U7 direction Rudow.
Get off at U-Bhf. Fehrbelliner Platz and change subway lines.
• Take U-Bahn U3 direction Krumme Lanke.
• Get off at Thielplatz.
• Exit the subway station and follow the detailed partial campus map above.
• By TAXI: it takes about 20 minutes by taxi and it cost ca. € 25,-

From airport Schönefeld (Estimated travel time is 80 minutes)
• Take bus 171 or walk to S-Bahn station Schönefeld (10 minutes walk) from the arrival hall
• Take line S9 direction Spandau
• Get off at Treptower Park
• Change to the circle line S 41 travelling west and get off at Heidelberger Platz
• Change to subway line U3 direction Krumme Lanke
• Get off at Thielplatz.
• Exit the subway station and follow the detailed partial campus map above.
• By TAXI: it takes about 30 minutes and it cost ca. € 40,-

Berlin has two city centres: city west and city east. Please notice, that the direction sign "Mitte" leads to the district "Mitte", that means city east. The western city is situated around one of the big shopping streets called Kurfürstendamm, driving time from "Mitte" is about 15 minutes. Please note: Berlin's inner city is an "environmental zone" where only cars that are up to emission standards are allowed. You need a sticker with information about the emission standard of your car. You can get these stickers in authorized shops.

Arrival by train:

Hauptbahnhof - Central railway station (Estimated travel time is 50 minutes)
• Take any S-Bahn that goes westwards (S3,S7,S75,S5 über Westkreuz/ Zoologischer Garten).
• Get off after 6 stations, at Westkreuz.
• Take circle line S42 S-Bahn/ S46 Königs Wusterhausen platform 12 (Gleis 12)
• Get off after three stations, at Heidelberger Platz.
• Change to subway line U-Bahn U3, southbound (Krumme Lanke).
• Get off at Thielplatz.
Optional:
• Take any S-Bahn that goes westwards (S3,S7,S75,S5 über Westkreuz/ Zoologischer Garten).
• Get off after 3 stations, at Zoologischer Garten.
• Take Bus 110 heading to U Oskar-Helene-Heim

The Henry Ford Building is within some 8 minutes walking distance of U-Thielplatz.
Berlin and the surrounding areas are divided into three fare zones (A, B and C). Tickets are available for two fare zones (AB or AC) or the entire fare zone (ABC).
• an AB-ticket is valid within the Berlin city limits and Tegel Airport
• a BC-ticket is valid in the areas outside of the S-Bahn circle and in the surrounding areas (Schönefeld Airport is located in Zone C)
• an ABC -ticket is valid in all fare zones
