The working group cosmetics was created in 1987 and has at present 19 permanent and 18 corresponding members. They represent

• Consulting
• Legislation  
• Industry 
• Control / Monitoring / Analytics  
• University

The working group deals with relevant questions of development, production and monitoring of cosmetic products. It would like to promote the scientific exchange between the different disciplines interested in cosmetic products.

At present the main points of interests are:

• documentation of the state of art of selected raw materials
• development of analytic methods and examination of their suitability in interlaboratory tests
• commentaries on legislation in relation to the consequences for development, production and monitoring of cosmetics
• questions of the composition and professional judgement of cosmetics
• exchange of views on requirements for cosmetics
