AK Prozessanalytik  Process Analytical Chemistry

Working Group Process Analytical Chemistry

The Working Group Process Analytical Chemistry within the division of Analytical Chemistry in the German Chemical Society (GDCh) has been established on March 31 2005.

Here some excerpts drawn from the guidelines of the organizing board:

"User in the German analytical community in industry and research are convinced that there is an urgent need to set up a specific forum and knowledge platform for process analytics",

These activities are based on the experience that "on one hand equipments and applications in process annd environmental analytics are merging each other, but on the other hand are becomming ever more complex and gaining more and more impact in the production areas.
Today process and environmental analytics are a well limited interdisciplinary field of interest, which in some way must be mirrored in the structure of an professional organisation as the GDCh is intended to be.
Due to the highly specialised production methods as well as to the countless administration regulations, analytical techniques and detection methods are soaring skyward."

Consequently the analytical community is asking for an professional knowledge mangement to meet the daily challanges.

The goals of the AK Prozessanalytik take into account the global competition in industry and research and are summerised as follows (excerpts form the preliminary guidelines of the AK):

  • knowledhe platform for industry and research
  • contact portal for related disciplines
  • generating additional know-how
  • participating in administrrational regulations
  • expert´s evaluation of governmental regulations and related laws
  • circulating the anlytical know-how
  • co-operation with the international community
  • co-operation with universities and academies
