We extend to you our warm invitation to the 3rd EuCheMS Congress and Career Days events!

The Career Days are organised by the Career Service of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (German Chemical Society, GDCh) and the European Young Chemists Network (EYCN). They are open to all registered participants in the EuCheMS Congress.

Monday, 30 August:

The Career Days begin Monday afternoon with an event about Research Grants (more information). Several funding organisations will present their programms to support young scientists. Germans who wish to study or doing research abroad as well as foreigners who are interested in studying or doing research in Germany are welcome.

Science meets Business (more information): How do companies develop new products? How do they get the idea of doing research in a particular field? And how are research findings turned into money-making products? Representatives of global enterprises offer a closer look at their current activity fields.

Tuesday, 31 August:

On Tuesday, potential employers and employees will have a chance to meet at the JobFair (more information). Big name companies will be at hand to answer questions about getting started and pursuing a career. Representatives of firms will give brief presentations of their companies and the career prospects they have to offer. You can also find out about the scholarships various organisations offer. Current job offerings at various companies and research institutes will be posted on bulletin boards.

Start your own chemical business (more information): How do I found my own company? Where do I get help or starting capital? What personality traits should I have to run my own company successfully? Speakers at a number of presentations on Tuesday afternoon report on their own experience and offer valuable tips about founding one's own business or company.

In the CV check (more information) applicants can have their CV analysed by recruiting experts, who will give you tips on where your weak points lie and how you can optimise your language abilities.

Career Networking (more information)
The Career Networking database provides you with an excellent tool to organize all your meetings at the conference. Participants can post job-available notices for their companies or universitys in the database, which is open to all registered Congress delegates. They can also search for students, doctoral candidates or post-docs who have entered their CVs in the database, contact them and set up an appointment with them during the Congress. Students, doctoral candidates or post-docs can post their profile and CV on the database so that interested employers can easily find them and get in touch. The database can also be used to search for companies and job offers.

The EuCheMS Congress offers far more than opportunities for your future career, however. As part of the European Young Chemist Award, young scientists from all over Europe will be presenting the results of their research. And of course the scientific programme offers a variety of highlights and distinguished speakers.

Take advantage of this unusual opportunity to get to know your young colleagues from other countries. The Congress party "C60 Party – Chemistry Meets Soccer" at the Nürnberg Easy Credit Stadium promises to be a memorable evening!

You won't want to miss the 3rd EucheMS Congress – in every way a very special event.

Please note that only registered participants in the EuCheMS Congress may attend. The professional societies are supporting the participation of young scientists with a number of travel grants:
